Alright guys. Turns out I was just kidding about going to Bad-Saarow. I think that the Bad Saarow-Scharmützelsee rotary club is still hosting me, but I will be living about ten minutes from Bad Saarow, in Fürstenwalde. There is also more exciting news, on Friday my host family contacted me! Friday morning before school I got a friend request on facebook from this girl who told me she's going to be my host sister, and then I got an email from my host parents too! They are very nice, and in the letter they said that they "like humour and to be spontanious" which sounds great! They sound like really nice people, Rene is a baker & manager, and Solveig is a teacher of kids with special needs. They have two girls, and the youngest one (my age) is going to South Africa - Pretoria, through rotary the same year that I'm going there. This has been a very long weekend!
Auf wiedersehen!

Ahh.. paperwork
With six and a half days left of my sophomore year... I'm pretty stressed out. It's all very bittersweet, my big brother is graduating on Saturday Afternoon, and I'm not going to be in school with my classmates for over a year. I've got family coming up this weekend, the second part of an English final tomorrow, a surprise Algebra final coming up next week, another test in that class to make up... thank you Algebra teacher for introducing trig with seven days of school left, now my brain feels like it got run over by a truck. Oh shoot, and I've got to get on my business cards, my power point, homework. I keep telling myself I'll get on that tomorrow... Very bad habit!
It's that time of year when I start making to-do lists on the back of my hands. On top of that I received some confusing emails from my IYWT (It's Your World - Travel!) with all this different paperwork that needs to be filled out and sent in at different times... I wish it could tell me exactly what I need to do, but if I read it about three more times I'll probably get it down. :)
Oh! I also found out what I think might probably, possibly, most likely, be my host city in Germany! I went on that same data website that I found out my hosting distrikt (1940) on and someone had gone on their and entered my host club - which is Bad Saarow-Scharmützelsee. I did a ton of research yesterday after I figured that out, and it sounds like I'm going to be going to the town of Bad Saarow on the lake of Scharmützelsee.
I'm not a hundred percent sure on everything yet though. Bad Saarow's population as of 2009 was 4,791, which is about three and a half times the size of Grand Marais. It's about an hour and a half from Berlin and from the border of Poland - right in between them. Apparently it's a well know spa/resort town for people from Berlin, and it's like ten minutes from Furstenwalde, which has like 40,000 people. Maybe I'll be schooling there? I couldn't seem to find one in Bad Saarow. Anyways, I'm pumped I'm next to a body of water actually.. I've been in sight of one my whole life, and that just seems really nice.
On another note, today is Internation Exchange Students Day! Yay! Haha - and from what I'm ready in this recent email from a really nice guy from IYWT, I have 63 days left in the US... holy buckets!
peace <3
